Brilliant Microschools offers full-time accredited schooling. It is designed to replace traditional brick-and-mortar schools.
We offer two options:
Our General Education Program runs five days a week with daily live classes (3 hours/day), electives (2-4hrs/day) and independent study, covering a broad curriculum and enrichment sessions. This program is suitable for students with zero to moderate learning differences.

Our Special Education Program runs four days a week with daily live classes (2 hours/day), focusing on tailored support for students with high needs and disabilities.

Both programs ensure small class sizes (6-10 students per class) and personalized instruction.

We employ certified teachers who undergo a rigorous vetting process. This includes a comprehensive background and reference check, followed by a full month of onboarding and training. This ensures that all educators are well-prepared to provide personalized instruction and support to students with diverse learning differences, such as Dyslexia, ASD, ADD/ADHD, and Anxiety.

For our General Education program you'll have the option to join either a morning (10am EST) or an afternoon class (1.30pm EST).

As for our Special Education program you'll have the option to join a morning (10am EST), a midday (12.30pm EST) or an afternoon class (3pm EST).

A microschool is a small, personalized educational setting that offers a tailored learning experience with a low student-to-teacher ratio. This model emphasizes individualized attention, flexible curriculum, and a close-knit community, making it suitable for students who may not thrive in traditional larger school environments.

Brilliant Microschools starts at the kindergarten level and serve students through high school.

Students do not need to be diagnosed with a disability to enroll. The school serves both general education students and those with special educational needs, providing tailored support to help all students succeed.

The curriculum is standards-aligned, focusing on both academic and life skills. All our teachers are certified who are experienced in providing individualized instruction and trained to support students with various learning differences, such as Dyslexia, ASD, ADD/ADHD, and Anxiety.

We are a mastery based school.
This means the students would have the option to continue being enrolled with us until they can demonstrate mastery of HS level math, English, social studies and science... at which time they would receive a fully accredited, nationally recognized HS diploma.
The essence of a mastery based school program is that we allow students to mature, master subjects & graduate at their own pace.

That said, the student wouldn't get a high school diploma until they can demonstrate mastery.

Otherwise they could opt for an ESE classroom and go for a Certificate of Completion (as opposed to HS diploma).

We are fully accredited by WASC nationwide. Our transcripts and HS diploma are accepted by schools and colleges across all states.

While we do not follow the core curriculum (nor any mandates as we are a private school), we do hit all standards required for graduation using our own internally designed curriculum and instructional methods.

Each state offers its own set of school choice and financial aid programs—and we’re in a fast-moving period where requirements can change month to month.

For example, in Arizona, Brilliant Microschools accepts direct payment through the Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program.

In Florida however, while we do not accept direct payment from any scholarship program most of our families are reimbursed through the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA) or PEP, depending on eligibility.

Because rules vary by state and shift often, we recommend reaching out to your state’s K–12 scholarship administrator to confirm which programs you qualify for and how funds can be used.

Brilliant Microschools’ curriculum covers Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies, taught in interdisciplinary units over two-week cycles focusing on the 3 Es—Engage, Explore, and Elaborate. This approach drives engagement and reduces cognitive load by integrating subjects into real-world applications.

Students follow the bi-weekly cycle as follows:

• Engage: Via an audiovisual introductory prompt followed by a notice & wonder protocol.
• Explore: Through explore boards offering diverse, differentiated activities that cater to various learning styles.
• Elaborate: With performance tasks that synthesize learning into tangible projects and presentations.

Our curriculum uses the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and includes differentiated tasks, scaffolds, as well as a diverse set of eduprotocols to ensure accessibility for all students.
Math is taught separately but follows the same cycle structure.

Our program is apolitical and secular, emphasizing real-world applications and reducing cognitive load. Progress is tracked through weekly formative evaluations and performance tasks. Adaptive learning software and MAP Growth assessments are used to validate student growth.
